About the school
A Wing Chun school on Long Island since 2002.
Our mission is to pass the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu to the next generation in its entirety, as it was taught to us by SiFu Allan Che Kong Lee.

(01) Our story
Senior students, carrying one teacher’s work forward.
Long Island Wing Chun is taught by senior students of the late SiFu Allan Che Kong Lee, a student of Yip Man (Ip Man).
SiFu Lee was Yip Man’s last closed-door, private disciple in Hong Kong. He moved to New York City in the early 1970s and found his SiHing, SiFu Duncan Leung, another closed-door disciple of Yip Man. He soon became SiFu Leung’s assistant instructor at his Great Jones Street school. SiFu Leung later left New York for Virginia Beach to teach the Navy SEALs and various law enforcement agencies.
SiFu Lee and his family eventually moved to Virginia Beach as well, where he opened a Chinese food market and was able to assist SiFu Leung again. SiFu Lee learned much from SiFu Leung. He considered him not only his SiHing, his older kung fu brother, but also his SiFu and mentor.
SiFu Lee eventually moved back to New York City and opened his own school, Wing Chun NYC, where he taught for over 30 years before his untimely passing in 2016.
Long Island Wing Chun started out as a satellite school for Wing Chun NYC and opened its doors in Huntington, New York, in 2002. Today it is led by SiFu Peter Koo, SiBak Ronnieo Jow and SiSuk Johnny Liu, and is affiliated with SiFu Duncan Leung and Applied Wing Chun.
(02) Lineage
From Ip Man’s Hong Kong to Huntington Station.
Ip Man taught Allan Lee and Duncan Leung. Allan Lee taught the people who teach here. The line is short, and we intend to keep it intact.

(03) How we teach
A school should be able to show you why it works.
01
Questions are welcome.
Some schools forbid students from asking how a technique works. SiFu Lee disagreed, and we teach the way he did.
“If a student has a question, then it is the SiFu's responsibility to answer it.”
02
Test everything.
You are not asked to take anything on faith. You see it, try it, and feel whether it works for your body.
“Accept your SiFu's ideas, try them, experiment, analyze them and form your opinion.”
03
Substance over comfort.
The floor, the dummies and the people on them matter more than the amenities around them.
“The quality of an instructor's teaching is infinitely more important than a fancy environment.”

In the room
“Look for the SiFu who is uncompromising in his teaching; one who keeps correcting mistakes.”

(04) Who teaches
Three instructors, one teacher.
Come and feel it for yourself.
Your first class is free. Tell us a little about yourself and we will arrange a time.
